To produce high calibre future youngsters in the field of economics, who will not only be prepared for an occupation but also contributing their knowledge in strengthening the society.
We believe in producing young individuals, selected for their leadership potential, to an economic way of thinking about national and international issues and to promote excellence in economic education by respecting values in life, responsible and accountable citizens who can help themselves, their immediate families, local community and the nation.
TopAbout Economics
Economics is the study of how people choose to use scarce resources and how the economy works around you.
TopEconomical Issues
Economists study changes occurring in specific countries or individual sectors of an economy; some ask fundamental questions about the nature of economic decisions; some address proposals to change government policies. However, each module will let you as a student find out something more about the economy and the world around you. The way you look at the world can change once you understand the subtle workings of your economy.
TopImportance
The student in economics develops three skills:
- they will be able to apply logical thought in solving problems.
- observation and inference from data and figures.
- presenting ideas in compelling writing and speech
Because you learn a lot of skills and knowledge, you will be able to apply them to other jobs or to your personal life. Learning about interest rates, exchange rates, economic indicators and equity markets can help you make better decisions about investing and savings and spending.
TopCareers Opportunities
Economics majors are successful in a wide variety of careers. Although various roles in businesses are most common, economics majors are successful in management, law, medicine, government, non-profit organizations, and international relations, as well as in academic roles.
TopExtra Activities
Like all the other departments, the Department of Economics also follow the same programmes to develop and enhance student learning and assist them in understanding the topics done in the classroom.
Consultation hours allotted for each teacher so that they can be available to the students.
Extra classes are conducted weekly so that extra help can be given to the students who need it the most.
