New Enrolment - 2016
Announcement for admission is made via the media every year as soon as the Cambridge O/L results are out. The application forms are released after the result of GCE O/L, IGCSE and SSC are produced. The form should be returned within the allocated period, along with the required documents.
- have achieved passes (‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ Grade) in a total of five subjects at GCE O/L, IGCSE and SSC examination taken after 1st May 2014. These five passes should include passes in either Dhivehi or Islamic Studies and minimum 2 subjects from the same stream.
- Commerce stream subjects include Account, Commerce, Business Studies, Economics and Mathematics.
- Science stream subjects include Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
- Arts stream subjects include History and Geography. However, if a pass is obtained in either History or Geography, a pass in one of subjects from English Language, English Literature, Economics and Mathematics will be considered as the second subject.
Applications may be rejected if there are more eligible applicants than available places. Being eligible to study at CHSE simply means that your application will be considered.Top
If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available places, a score will be calculated for each applicant, which will be used to make the selection.
The score is calculated for 8 subjects (4 compulsory subjects + 4 other subjects with highest result) in the same way as that for O/L National Top Ten calculation (using a scale of 12 points for ‘A’ Grade, 9 points for ‘B’ Grade and 7 points for ‘C’ Grade).
The applicants with the highest score will be selected first, followed by the next highest and so on until all the available places are filled.
